Cyber-Secure NVR Backing Up Video Clips

If we come across a segment of video that we want to back up, we've got a couple of different options here. If you just want to take a snapshot of something that you see on the video, you can click the snapshot icon. If you want to make a clip, you can make a clip. File management is where these go. So right now it shows that we made a snapshot and what that lets you do is that lets you compile multiple snapshots without having to wait for each one to back up. So you can do a couple of snapshots, then come here and back them all up simultaneously. And you need to select the ones you want and then hit backup up or back up all. And then at that point, the USB shows all the files that are on it. You can create a new folder, you can just put it in an empty space here, and then you just hit backup to back that up.

If we want to make a video clip, we click on the scissors and that puts these two marks on the left and right side. And what it'll do is it'll clip what's in between the two. So if we want to make a clip here of this blue recording, we would just put it in between the two marks. Then hit stop clipping, video clipped successfully, and then that will be in the file management waiting for you to back that up as well. It's all the same options. You select a backup, and then you back it up here or put it in a folder and then back it up. You can also format the thumb drive here if you need to. So if it's an incompatible format or there's a bunch of junk files on there, you can use the MVR to erase those and make more room on there for backup recordings or snapshots.

So we've got an external file as well. The external file is how you use the NVR to play a recording that's on the thumb drive. For example, if you have recordings saved on your computer and you want to play them with the NVR, then you could put those files onto the thumb drive from your computer, go into the NVR under playback and hit external file, and then play those saved files off your computer through the NVR.
