Rent To Own - Terms & Conditions

Rental Term

The customer agrees to a minimum rental term of twelve (12) months. If the customer terminates the rental prior to completion of the initial 12-month term, the customer shall remain responsible for the full cost of the 12-month rental period, less any payments already made.

Ownership of the unit shall transfer to the customer only after twenty-four (24) consecutive monthly payments have been made in full and on time at the agreed-upon rate. Upon transfer of ownership, the unit will include a three (3) year factory warranty, if applicable.

If the customer terminates this agreement prior to completing all 24 required payments, any and all claims to ownership or equity in the unit shall be forfeited.

Operational Costs

Following the initial twenty-four (24) month term, the customer shall be responsible for maintaining the required data service for the unit. The customer agrees to maintain our unlimited data plan for as long as the unit remains in operation.

Service & Repair

If the unit experiences a system failure due to normal operation, Backstreet Surveillance shall, at its sole expense, repair or replace the defective equipment or components.

If the unit is damaged due to vandalism or external causes, Backstreet Surveillance will make reasonable efforts to repair or replace the unit; however, such damage may be subject to customer responsibility depending on the circumstances and applicable insurance coverage.

In the event the unit becomes non-functional due to a covered system failure, the customer shall receive a service credit. The credit will be calculated by dividing the monthly rental rate by thirty (30) days to determine a daily rate, which will be applied for each full day the system is not operational.

Limits of Liability

Backstreet Surveillance provides mobile surveillance systems that rely on electronic components and third-party monitoring services. While commercially reasonable efforts will be made to respond to events, Backstreet Surveillance does not guarantee the prevention of property damage, theft, or bodily injury.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Backstreet Surveillance and its monitoring providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to property damage, theft, loss of use, loss of profits, or bodily injury arising from or related to the use or performance of the equipment or services.

In all cases where liability is established, the total cumulative liability of Backstreet Surveillance shall not exceed an amount equal to three (3) months of rental fees.

The customer is solely responsible for maintaining adequate insurance coverage for any potential losses, damages, or liabilities arising during the rental term.

Payment Terms

The first month’s rental payment is due prior to delivery of the unit. The customer agrees to pay all subsequent monthly rental fees in advance via automatic ACH bank draft.

Default & Recovery

If the customer fails to make payment and becomes delinquent for more than forty-five (45) days, Backstreet Surveillance reserves the right to terminate this agreement and recover the equipment without prior notice or customer consent, in addition to pursuing any remaining amounts owed.
