ProVue How to Program Line Cross Motion Alerts

Hi, this is Eric from Backstreet Surveillance. Today we're going to go over a principle called line crossing. This is an advanced feature of our ProVue NVR Surveillance System. And to go over this really quickly, we're going to take the mouse, go down here to the start button. From there, we're going to go to setup, and then we're going to go to the alarm area. Now, in the alarm area, we're going to click on intelligent. And then from there, we're going to go down here to the very bottom, and we're going to click on intelligent again.

So any of these three cameras will support line crossing. So let's choose. We're going to turn the switch on to enable line crossing, then we're going to go to set up on camera or channel five. So we've got three different choices. Our rule switch, it's normally off, and we click this to the on position.

And then from there, we have three different choices here. We have A crossing over to B, B crossing over to A, or you could cross from either direction from A to B. So in short, here's how this is done. Let's choose, for example, A going to B. So let's just go over here and we'll draw a line here with the mouse by holding the left mouse button down.

And then as we draw that, I'm going to let up on this and click it again. Now, this is established. So A going to B, in this case, would indicate if somebody's coming in this garage door here and going this direction, they trip over this line, and it begins recording and it can send out an alert. And the way that you save this is once you draw the line, you just click save, and then that will save this.

Now what if you have second thoughts? You can go back here, click this, and then this will allow you to go back and remove it once it's turned red. Okay? So again, let's go back and let's look at B crossing over to A. Okay, same principle as before. And so in this case, we're going to draw the line again and let up on the left mouse button, and then click the line one more time with the left mouse button.

(02:23) And then, this time, this will catch somebody crossing the line going out the door. Okay. And then, of course, what we do is we hit the save in order to save this to the camera. So this last line, you can go from B to A or A to B. It doesn't matter. And so, notice, you've got arrows going either direction. So that means somebody could come through this way and walking on the way out, they could trip this going out the door and it would start the recording, or somebody coming in, going from A to B, would also trip the recording.

And, again, after you've drawn this the way you want, all you have to do is hit the save button. You'll notice it saving, and it's successful. And then you've got your rules set up. And you can have up to four rules per camera. But that's the essence of line crossing. And then, from there, make sure your switch is on.

In addition to that, you've got different levels of sensitivity, from one to four, one being the least sensitive, four being the most sensitive. In addition to that, you've also got indoor or outdoor, depending on where the camera's located. And so that would adjust itself according to its environment. So that's the sum total of how to use line crossing on the ProVue system.
